Behind the branding/// color palette

It all begins with an inspiration. Thank you for tuning in!

I’d like to take you on a journey and share the thoughts behind the Courage Collab branding. I’ve experienced building a brand before, but this time I really wanted to put extra thought, heart, and intention into each aspect of the design.

Each design behind a brand has a purpose. By definition, branding is the process of giving meaning to a company. It’s the identity. It’s the voice. It’s the character. It tells a story by delivering a product that is always aligned with what the brand promises. A strong brand is more than just a logo — it's reflected in everything from your service style, business cards, marketing materials, and advertising. It evokes all the feelings and emotions that the company wants to portray.

Choosing the Courage Collab Color Palette

Every day I wake up and I am in awe of where I live. I love watching how the sun rises over Haleakala as the sun rays touch and lighten up Waiko Valley. When the sun sets, life starts to quiet down; everyone is winding down from their day. On my drive home is usually during the golden hour, my favorite. It’s that beautiful time where the shadows start to come out. The sun hits the edge of a leaf or the field of crops; everything starts to glow. Everything and everyone looks beautiful in this light. I find myself constantly looking around and seeing so many beautiful color palettes. We are so blessed to be living in this paradise with all these beautiful colors surrounding us.

So, one day I took a snapshot. It was during dusk. The sky started to fade from bright blue to these beautiful lavender, peach, and pink tones. The clouds were this beautiful light gray, blue color, but on the edges where the sun hit, they turned pink or even rose gold. The ocean turned from emerald green to a deep blue. As the trade winds swept the ocean, the wind created this gray, whitewashed effect above the waves. On the horizon was the West Maui mountains, green after a day of rainfall. I stopped and looked at the photo and it dawned on me that these are all my favorite colors, strong earth tones. It was this photo that inspired my color palette for the branding of Courage Collab.

Color Psychology and Courage Collab’s Colors

Color psychology is the study of hues as a determinant of human behavior. Color influences perceptions that are not obvious, such as the taste of food. Each color has a meaning and qualities that can cause certain emotions in people.

With all that in mind, these are the colors & qualities that I have chosen to represent Courage Collab and its core values:

·       Green = communicates harmony, hope, balance and positive self-esteem

·       Rose gold = calm and alleviates anger

·       Charcoal grey = Neutral, intelligence and sophisticated

·       Sky blue = Cool serenity, honesty, and loyalty

·       Sunset pink=hope and optimism

Thank you for tuning in. I can’t wait to share more of the Courage Collab branding evolution with you. In the meantime, I’d love to read your comments about Courage Collab’s colors.
